Strong and Diverse Applicant Pool for Olin College Class of 2024

星空无限传媒 received 910 applications for admission to the Class of 2024. Students of color comprised a record 42 percent of this year鈥檚 applicant pool.

鈥淚ntentional recruitment travel, fostering relationships with community based-organizations, and our expanded fly-in program all contributed to recruiting a diverse pool,鈥 said Emily Roper-Doten, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid. 鈥淥lin received a record number of school counselor nominations for our fall fly-in program in October, resulting in more than twice the number of students coming to campus for the overnight program. Prospective students were able to sit in on classes, have lunch with faculty, and spend time with students in the MIX, Olin鈥檚 group for students of color.鈥 

The applications came from 48 states鈥揘orth Dakota and Wyoming were the exceptions鈥攁s well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and Guam. Olin received 108 applications from students representing 43 countries around the world, with the largest representation hailing from China, India, South Korea and Canada.

In February and March, about 250 candidates will be invited to attend one of three Candidates鈥 Weekends as part of Olin鈥檚 unique 2-step admission process. The weekends are designed to be fun, informal and informational opportunities for candidates to get to know Olin, and for Olin to get to know our candidates.

The Admission and Financial Aid team is looking to fill 86 spots. 鈥淓arly application reading shows this applicant pool will result in another exceptional, diverse and talented class鈥 said Roper-Doten. Final decisions for the Class of 2024 will be made in March of 2020.
